How to think and limit war, how to build peace?

This catalogue, which accompanies the “War and Peace” exhibition organized at the Martin Bodmer Foundation in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations, aims to retrace the immemorial dialogue between the warlike nature of the man and his deep desire for peace.

This dialectic lends itself to plural insights from literature, anthropology, philosophy and psychoanalysis, law and political science and the fine arts. In this work, literary works, propaganda posters, dialogue with archival documents, war declarations and peace treaties through three sections with some twenty essays written by the best specialists: the origins of war, the time of destruction and betting on peace.
